1st things 1st!! - - {{Downloadable Freebie}}

Fitness Magazine

I remember when I was hired to teach my first position as a 3rd grade teacher. Being fresh out of college, it was an exciting experience to walk into the human resources department and fill out my multiple pages of information and then sign my contract. It was such a great feeling to sign this contract, and I was honored to have shared it with the people around me. When we find ourselves gaining a new job the 1st thing we do is sign a contract... which promises that we will complete the task we've been assigned. Professional athletes.. when they finally select and team (or a team selects them) they initially sign a contract. The same happens with medical professionals, construction workers... and it can happen with your work out and your fitness goals. (Don't lessen your goals because it is not a "job" or a "career." )

Each time we begin new, we make promises to others whether it is voluntary or involuntary. Why not make a contract/promise to yourself??

Here is my contract.
Any suggestions on Rewards??
When you are ready to begin your health and fitness journey, create a contract, a written contract with yourself. Stop and think, what is it I want to accomplish?? How long am I going to give myself to accomplish this goal??... Is it REASONABLE??.. and most importantly sign this contract with someone who is close to you, and stick it on the fridge. (Some place where it can be seen) Accountability is a HUGE word that we do not always enjoy hearing, however; it's the truth. Someone is always holding us accountable for our progress in our profession. Why not in fitness?? Find a friend, spouse, or family member who you trust to help PUSH you... to be your "cheerleader" your positive reminder, and the person to keep you "laser focused" when it becomes tough.

Stairway to Success

On my site, I have created a goal sheet that I use myself. I have attached the link as a FREEBIE download for you. Please feel free to download and print it!! Use it as needed, to fit you and your goals! This contract doesn't need to be SUPER formal. It just needs to state the important facts for you to be successful.

I've got the URGE....

...... and I don't mean Herbal Essences! ;-)

Okay.. so as I sit up tonight, I can't help but think about the many times we crave something we SHOULDN'T eat. Maybe something SWEET or a little SALTY... or maybe it's just something bad and yummy?!?! Anyone else??.. Maybe it's just me.. lol.. Alright! Well I have something here that is going to suppress those WILD cravings while giving you a little something extra!

I call these, Pineapple Cubes!! It's a little bit of pineapple in an "ice cube" form! Delicious! It takes but a few minutes to prepare and an over night in the freezer, and VOI LA!
Pour Pineapple juice in the slots. Try to have an even amount of small cubes. This makes it easier to eat once frozen.

Freeze overnight. Pop one cube out the tray and in your mouth, when you have a "sweet tooth" and you have a sweet treat! (One great thing, is that people often say how pineapples can help flatten the tummy?!?! - Why not a small amount of pine apple juice?!?)

These are great when it is hott outside because it not only calms that craving but it also gives you something COOL to eat! :)

While we're talking about craving, I want to share another crave pleaser, that the people in Advocare call.... Leptilean!!

This is one of my BEST FRIENDS, because I will be the first to admit that I crave any and all foods throughout the day. (Sometimes, I even crave late night snacks that I shouldn't be eating.. anyone else???) So what this is.... is an appetite suppressant. It helps to curve your appetite when you are anxious to eat more than necessary.. and just to help us eat at the right times.

It's truly a saving grace!

Between these two goodies.. I hope I was able to help someone make some good choices! :)

Have a craving calmer of your own?? Share in the comment box below!

Shake, Shake, Shake!!

I don't know about you, but I DISLIKE shakes!! I am the person who would prefer to chew all of my meals, however; my NINJA has been a "game changer" for my food choices and the way I choose to eat some meals.
(when I find a GOOD shake!! I would be beside myself if I didn't share. :-p)

This morning I made a shake, that just "blew my mind." I added some of my favorite things together and it really came out tasty. I felt like a smoothie professional when I was done.. however; reality check.... lol .... I'm just someone striving to make a health change in her life, and experimenting with food. But it was yummy!

Ingredients:

  • Spinach (approx. 1/2 cup)
  • Blueberries (approx. 1/2 cup)
  • 1 banana
  • Silk Almond Milk - Vanilla (Unsweetened) - (approx. 1/2 cup)
I added all these ingredients to the blender and blended it well. It was a tasty "late" breakfast treat! So easy to drink, and tasty because I used fruits that I love!

Lesson I have learned: If you're not a shake LOVER.... always reach for flavors that you really enjoy!! It makes it more enjoyable!

Off for a walk with my cousin!!

It's so exciting when you accomplish something that you haven't done before! :) It's kind of a rush!

YAY for Blogging!!

My name is Kelli and I live in Houston, Texas!! I am so excited to join the blogging world. This is something I have been wanting to do for a while now in order to share and gain new ideas on healthy eats and fitness tips. I love how a blogging community can build each other up and support one another.

I am currently a teacher to some AWESOME kiddos and I LOVE teaching, however I also LOVE Advocare. It started off as a "side business" and has quickly grown into another thing that I hold dear to my heart. Health and kids are 2 STRONG passions of mine, as well as my faith and I love that I can share these with you! :)

I am a fairly "slim" person, however my weight does bother me, for I am not at my "dream" weight or size. That being, I continue to hang on to my "dream jeans" and one day they will fit correctly again. (No stretching on my part, no jumpy dances... I want them to fit correctly.)

This is my before, and I took another photo after 4 days on my cleanse 10. (May 2013) It is possible, eating right is a daily task on my part, I know what it takes to be successful and I want to get back there and maintain it.

Growing up, my family did not make the healthiest food choices resulting... in my food choices being along the same lines later in life. I believe in eating the foods we crave however, I believe in Moderationoccasional eating, and exercise. For example, I do still eat Thanksgiving food, but I no longer eat every couple of hours and go back for 2nds and 3rd on my sweet potato pie. (Guilty!!) :-/

So healthy eating and living is the ultimate goal, I want to live healthier and be able to move around with my children and their children and I know to do that later, I need to start today in building myself right, so i can maintain my health.

START TODAY!!

Please feel free to ask questions or comment... if you feel the urge.
I can't wait to interact in the blogging world. I love people and I love the ideas that others have, that I may have never thought of! Some people are so inspiring and I hope that I can be an inspiration to someone else.
